Hey guys! Hope you’re all having a great week! I’m comin’ at you with a review on the new Colourpop Give it to me Straight eyeshadow palette and the IN NUDE ENDO highlighter palette. Look, I’m just going to cut right to the chase and keep this post concise… these palettes are really good and really worth the price. There were a couple eyeshadow shades that required some finessing, I will mention them when we get there, but nothing major or unusable. Colourpop products, the ones I’ve tried, compete with Sephora, or high-end products and I’m continually impressed!
*These products have been purchased by yours truly, Colourpop doesn’t know who I am, nor do they care about my opinion. With that out-of-the-way, lets swatch!
I really enjoy the packaging, neither palette comes with a mirror, no biggie to me but worth mentioning! Lets look at the eyeshadow palette first…
Give It To Me Straight shadow palette – $16.00
Swatches are from top row to bottom, keep in mind that swatches are not a representation of performance or application, they are merely to show the color! Seemingly pigmented, beautiful shades can apply poorly on the lid and vice versa, so don’t judge a shadow by its swatch. 😉 I’m happy to report that these swatch well, apply well and wear well, YAY! Top row, left to right: Matter of Fact, Up Front, Straight Up, and BS. Middle row, left to right: Frank, Candid, Forthright, and Downright. Bottom row, left to right: Truth Hurts, Be Blunt, TMI and Actually. I had no issues with any of the shades except Forthright and Downright (middle row, two on the right, see middle picture). Forthright is kind of flaky but workable and Downright was slightly patchy but I haven’t had any issues blending it out on the eye, take a good fluffy brush to it and you’ll be just fine. The only other issue, for me, that I can see with this palette is the lack of a light, matte, highlight shade. The lightest matte shade in this palette is WAY too dark and pink to be used as a highlight on me. I think if you’re fairer than me or even slightly darker, you will find that this palette is missing that nice matte highlight shade. I’ve been using this palette for just over a week now and have gotten some really gorgeous looks, highly recommend.
IN NUDE ENDO pressed powder highlighter palette – $18.00
Next up is this gorgeous beaut, these highlights are gorgeous, reflective, glossy goodness. Top three, left to right: Fine Line, On The Loose, and Glad You Came. Bottom three, left to right: Losing Sleep, Morning After, and On Tempo. I prefer a glossy highlight over any other, I do not like glitter in my highlighter and I want it to lay smooth, without emphasizing texture. These tick ALL THE BOXES. I adore these shades so much, Fine Line and Glad You Came (top row, left and right pans) are my favorites for my skin tone, the others are beautiful as shadows (Tip: easy for travel, these plus bronzer, all you need for a gorgeous eye look!). These highlights hang around ALL DAY LONG, I will apply at 8:00 a.m. and it’s still there when I go to wash my face at night. Highly recommend this palette!
